THE FINE ART OF LINOCUT
Linocut is a form of relief printmaking. Material is carved away from a linoleum block to leave an image, which is then inked up with a roller and transferred to paper with a press or burnished by hand. Each piece takes many hours, sometimes days, to complete. Handmade prints are each unique and special.
I use traditional linoleum which is made from all natural materials, including linseed oil, jute, cork dust, wood flour and pine rosin. I print using professional oil based inks which are non-toxic and clean up without the use of harmful solvents.
